wow that body is beautiful... I'd like to build a bass with that same wood. what are the specs of that body?

I'm very curious about how a 7/8 plays and feels.  Kind of like what a short scale bass is to a bass player?  Will be great to read about it all.

Kinda weird looking at an unboxing and NOT being photobombed by a cat.

I would suspect the difference isn't quite as noticeable as a SSB, as the 7/8 is the same scale length as a LP type guitar so it's only a difference of 3/4"

That said I'm interested too in how it feels and compares etc.

And a gorgeous ash body I must say...

Apart from scale length I suppose I would be wondering does the body seem much smaller or not much and the gap between the pickups etc.

The body does seem noticeably smaller than a standard Strat. And this is the first chambered body I've had. It's like a feather! (3 lbs. 5 oz.) I don't expect too much difference in sound because of the pickup spacing - the neck pup might be a tad brighter, I expect, and that would be OK with me.

That is light.

I don't think the position of the neck pickup would bother me, but is there a big difference to the distance between the pickups ?

There must be some just curious as to how much.  In any case it looks like it's going to be a cool instrument when it is done.

Playing wise, the strings of your usual gauge may feel slightly lighter, bending may seem slightly easier, and as far as pickup placement is concerned, only if you usually set your middle pickup high up close to the strings will you likely notice much of a difference there.  From there, wood species, hardware, and electronics come into play.
