Well, you guys know that I got Van Zandt's to fill up the holes in this guitar. Well, I'm sorry, I just can't handle a single coil in the bridge. To tinny for me. I've ordered a DiMarzio Super Distortion S for it. I'll let you know how that works out. I've been using Tone Zone's for years and years so I thought I'd give a different one a try. It should be fine.

Yeah, should be done early next week. I really love the look of this guitar and I love the way it feels.......I can't stand the way it sounds. Oh, the center and bridge are awesome, the bridge makes me want to jump out of a window. I hit a power chord and there's just something missing. I find myself leaning into it trying to push some ass out of it. No thanks! Single coils don't belong in the bridge.

Got the DiMarzio put in today and after installing it I went straight to a jam session without even hearing it first. Man, I gotta tell ya, the Super Distortion sure has a set of balls on it. I'm extremely happy with it. And tonight was a bluesy jam type thing. I took my Fender Blues Jr. with me and used a Boss Blues Driver and an MXR EVH Phaser. This guitar is rock solid now. I can't wait to hear it through the Mesa.

very very nice! i always liked the look of a single coil sized humbucker in a strat, too. something about the classic 3 single coil look, but with the dual rails letting you know this guitar can scream. and like i said, i do love the super distortion! might be a pain if you don't, but do you have any pics after the pickup swap?

Don't have any photos as of yet but I can surely do that. Not right this second though, I'm heading out the door. Will definitely get to it though.

Oooohh, you're asking the wrong person, the Tone Zone is my all time favorite. Then again, I play through a Mesa Dual Rectifier so just about anything going through that has all kinds of balls. I will say though that yes, the SD is a bit fatter/warmer than the TZ. I'm equally happy with both pups.

Try the TZ closer to the strings.  I've got one in a VIP, and it has tons of output and is not thin at all.  Are you sure you haven't got it wired parallel instead of series?

    i'll try putting it closer when I get home from work.  I just wired it using the diagram for a usa strat standard from the fender site. I don't know if that is parallel or series?

I was sitting down here this evening playing the white strat and I gotta say, yes, the SD is much fatter than the TZ. The harmonics are amazing too. I'm going to raise the TZ closer to the strings in my other guitar and see what happens.
