Got the threaded inserts installed in the neck, and carved the contoured heel.
Next is grain fill.

Gonna use Crystalac. The intention is for this to be my only build with ash.

Really nice job, and exactly what I would be doing to mimic the Fender Deluxe neck heel.

If you don't mind, where did you get the inserts?  Any tips on installing?

This thing is finally in the paint shop. It'll look sweet if there isn't a bad reaction between the solvent-based paint and the water-based grain filler (my first time ever using it). We'll find out pretty soon.
