Fan or not, there's no denying that. Jaco made it cool to play bass and for every bass player that Ron McGovney, Cliff Burton, Jason Newstead, or Robert Trujillo ever inspired to pick up the bass, once they picked up they wanted to play like Jaco. He made it showcase instrument and took it out of the pocket.
