Another year, another build.... (WARNING: NO PICS YET! IT DOESN'T EXIST!)

Just placed an order for a new tele build. Grabbed a body from the showcase, but forgot to save the image. oops. It's gonna be a sonic blue swamp ash tele with a mini-humbucker in the neck and a traditional tele bridge pup. Standard tele controls. Gonna slap a one-piece maple neck on there later.
Here's my concept:

I've been wanting this build for a while. Then I saw this real-life geetar in the warmoth tele gallery!

This is pretty much what I am going for. Mine will NOT be a relic. But the "sonic blue + black guard + maple neck + tele chrome" look.... mmmm!  :icon_biggrin:
I am excited.

Check your invoice for the body number.

And looks nifty. How is the humbucker going to be mounted?
Black ring or creme?

Body number T1901. Big W website has removed the listing though because it has been sold.

I am not planning on using any mounting rings, just the mounting screws right into the pickguard. And to be honest, I want a Firebird pickup in there, not a mini-hum. This one, I think http://www.lollarguitars.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=LGP&Product_Code=242&Category_Code=humbucker-pickups

Yeah it's a real pretty one. I have been toying forever with the idea of a traditional blackguard look... but I think the blue is the right move for me. And honestly, in 20 years you'll see some of that figuring. I don't play lightly on my geetars.

Awesome. Gorgeous body.  :icon_thumright: Get Tonar to do the finish in nitro if you plan to be mean to it and want it to show wood.

Looks like he's already placed the order. I'm guessing he doesn't want to change the order. He can save the Tonar finish for his blonde blackguard

I did place the order, but I've ordered it unfinished! I've been planning on nitro... and debating whether to try it myself, or talk to Sr. Tonar. Still debating birdseye or plain ol' maple. I love the look of birdseye, but at the same time I imagine this as a simple, bare-bones guitar. Birdseye might be too much 'bling', not sure.

Sorry, no red tortoise. Black is non-negotiable  :laughing7:

nice plan for a beautiful guitar - and im pretty strict about not liking painted guitars

also gotta agree with max on the birdseye; i dont like maple usually but again, here its the correct choice

but i dont know, i think id explore some more tonal options on the controls a la tfarny

out of phase in series is a great sound, for example
