Don't do it if your are not confident, but I like to sand the heel of the neck a tad to get less angle on the bridge saddles. But obviously optional.

Sweet! BTW-overcast days are mostly better than sunny for guitar photos IMO.

I agree generally, but my house gets pretty dark when it's overcast

It does have the contoured heel which is typically enough for me. Do you still do it with a contoured heel? It doesn't look like sanding the neck heel would get too much more access, but maybe...?

Hmm not had a contour heel. I just knock the height down a bit.
