! meg vol pots - limited range

Hi.

I've two 1 meg pots -audio taper from StewMac - for vol controls and have found that the useabe ange is fro 1 o'clock to 8 o'clock ...not much.

T he sound is great. The StewMac tech guy says that's normal for 1 meg pots...I don'tsee why that shlould be so.

Can anyone tel me whether that is normal o if not what the problem might be.

The circuit is like a jazz bass two vols 1 tone no switch.

It's timely that you post this.
I was just considering asking about this as I'm pondering wether installing a 1meg volume instead of the 500k.
I do not use a tone control at all.
