Meanwhile, at Warmoth...WarPaint BASS sale!

Okay, ya got me again.  I bought the satin black deluxe 5.  I'm holding off on a neck while i ruminate, and gather funds for the rest of it.

Cool! So how many basses do you own now?

Warmoth builds?  This would be number five.  I have two actual Fenders that I never play, and should sell.  And a microbass.  So I guess that puts the total, when this is finished, at eight.

I think it's fitting that my first five string bass is also my fifth W.  5x5.  I promised my wife I was done for a while.  So this will likely be my Christmas present to myself.  :icon_biggrin:  Yeah, It's April.

I also think the pic above is pretty accurate for my direction.  I like the chrome on black.  I haven't decided whether to continue with a roasted maple (raw) neck or just maple, and black dots or black blocks, I can't decide on that either.  But, probably roasted maple with black blocks. I've been wondering what direction to take.  Simpler electronics, but still active.  Original BadAss II bridge.  Fralin single coil pickups (of all the basses I've done, I like Fralin's best.)  My basses are showy, I like flame and quilt maple.  This one is classic, maybe a more vintage feel?

The satin black with the black pickguard and some chrome will look quite good. Either neck will do it justice so it's a matter of which you prefer. I like the blocks instead of spots because they would carry the black into the neck more. Whatever you do will look great, though. SB & B is a fine combo. Congrats on the purchase.

Don't forget that Aaron mentioned new inlay options coming out soon. Perhaps you should wait before you decide on black dots or black blocks. Who knows, perhaps they're coming out with moons going from full to crescent, or bananas being peeled, or exploding ducks or ...

I'll stop now.

Moons going from full to crescent would be very cool. The exploding ducks, well...  :icon_biggrin:

Naturally the exploding ducks would have to be visualised as inlays in a series of slow motion type of images ... :toothy12:

Split Diamonds
Split Blocks
Lightning Bolts
Iron Crosses

And a little something we like to call Supernovas.

The first four I think I can imagine or visualize. But Supernovas? Hmm, and hmm again, I wonder ... :icon_scratch:

Looking forward to this :occasion14:

The supernovas are unique to Warmoth, AFAIK.

Basically, a four-point star with the points oriented N,E,S,W, and extremely concave in between....getting flatter as it progresses down the neck.

Yeah, I'm going to wait to see what the new offerings are.  But, I'll tell you, for "classic" it's normally dots or blocks, and I'm leaning blocks.  Split blocks could be interesting, however.

Amazing, how did you know I always face North when I play?

Interesting!  Myself, I'm always aligned North-West when playing  :)
