We are starting a pilot-program in the Showcase. To help the imagination-challenged, some body listings will now include images that depict sample necks and hardware in place. Of course, the idea is to increase sales by making it easier to visualize a complete guitar that uses that particular body. Take a look at these listings and let us know what you think:

That is an excellent idea and something I would love to see implemented on many (all?) bodies.

And if I might make another suggestion, that might go along these lines; some kind of way to visualize the difference of the different body models, ie some kind of comparison.
Like, how big/small is the Strat body compared to the Velocity, for instance. Perhaps some kind of overlay function, like this one:

Man, now i don't have to sit on Photoshop for hours every time i visualize a build! Haha :cool01:

Hmmm.  I'd say it's a bit of a waste of time.  You'd never cover all possible combinations and photoshop works great.  IMHO and all that.

Unless of course they manage to do some computer wizardy where you could chose the body and the neck and the wood and so on and so on, thereby allowing to get all or most of the possibilities.

Well, of you look at it, you can already see what fretboards would look like with different woods, inlays, and binding, on the info page, so i don't imagine it would be too difficult to do a configurator to superimpose any neck on the body.

We have talked about this, but the logistics of doing some kind of free-form "builder"-style thingy in the showcase are off the charts. Even thinking about makes me start sucking my thumb.  :binkybaby:
Is it technically possible? Well...Amazon could probably do it. Amazon can deliver packages with drones too.

For now we are just dipping our toe in these waters to see if depicting various bodies in a more fully-fleshed-out way can help sell more of them.

I'm sure you will. And I think it's a brilliant idea. I love it and think you should implement it as soon as possible.
The links you supplied to the more fully fleshed out guitars made me want to buy another guitar(s!) and I haven't even finished putting together the first one yet  :laughing7:

You think you have the "want-its" now....just wait until you see the new option we are about to unleash next month!

Shh...don't tell anyone, but to the keen-eyed....gah....never mind. I've already said too much.

It's making me want a seafoam green strat with a vintage maple board..

There's all the proof you need as to how powerful this new feature is: Timmsie wanting to buy a non-black guitar  :o

Nuff said!

Hahaha, sadly, yes.

It's nice to be able to see a finished product, but it seems to me to be a limiting factor rather than an enlightening one. I see a seafoam green Strat with a standard Maple 'board neck attached, and I don't want one. If I just see the body, my mind's eye starts visualizing an Ebony or figured Maple board attached. But, in these examples, there are still other views without necks/hardware, so I suppose there's no harm.

I like the idea. It moves the idea of a replacement part further along to a finished guitar.
It might be a good idea to put the "Price includes body only" directly on the sample photo with hardware.

Cool idea.

I personally wish you would update the builder to include all the body styles first.

Just sayin'.

I've loved seafoam and maple ever since this one Charvelle i played once in a music store 25 years ago.
