Hoooo-weeee! They are lambasting me for this article over on the OffsetGuitars forum! Oh well, watcha gonna do.

Tears Of Outrage do seem to flow pretty freely over at OSG...

What you really need is to plant some shills over there to organize a boycott. That ought to clean out the showcase.

I have some offset guitars. Let me do it, boss! I always wanted to be a shill!

I think this says more about men than women. I mean the idea that the man has to sneak something in or explain to the wife etc is a bit of an old fashioned premise of when the wife controlled the budget.

My wife and I have no problem with the other buying something and both only buy things when we know it is affordable.

Well, I didn't say I had to sneak it in, I just said I put it in with the others and she never knows if it's old or new... :laughing7:

Besides, she takes care of the bills, so she knows when I make any big purchases...

I see... anyway my post wasn't directed at anyone in particular just a general comment.

Though thinking back to when I was younger and staying with my grandparents, my grandma used to have a thing about not having too much or something. If I bought a new vinyl LP you would hear comments like you already have more than you can listen  to in a day etc. So it was just easier to put them in with the others.

It's all good, and my wife used to say the same thing about my guitar collection. "Why do you need so many, you can only play one at a time"... :icon_biggrin:

My better half didn't use those words, but said something like: "Now, if you were an octopus ..." :icon_biggrin:

My girlfriend said she would play guitar and let me put together a Warmoth Strat for her (I wouldn't be allowed to play it though). So I think I'm in a good position.

Hint: Pick someone who likes music  :laughing7:

Hey Aaron!  You and your article just got mentioned in the August issue of a very well respected guitar magazine! Congratulations!  :occasion14:

... of course my band's latest album was reviewed in the same respected guitar magazine this past January...so there!  :icon_jokercolor:

It's the only one that has interesting articles about playing, building, history, great players, and older gear.
It's the only one that is not an advertisement for new stuff from beginning to end.
And it's the only one that I bother to read - and obviously have a subscription to.  :)

Update: ok - fretboard journal is another good one that's worth reading - but it's not that one.  :evil4:

I hope you're talking about Vintage Guitar, as that's the one I get.

I always knew you had good taste!  I just got the Aug issue today - It's got some hipster on the cover... Dan A-u-ro-bach or something.  Look for it in your mailbox.

Hey....thanks for the heads up. I skimmed through that issue, and didn't notice that.

For a silly little article that is only "funny-ish"  :icon_biggrin: , that thing has really had some legs. It's the most read article on our blog by a massive margin; more hits than all other articles combined.

I must admit that the rebuttive jist of the VG article made me chuckle a little. Tell your spouse the truth? Why didn't I think of that....it's so obvious!  :dontknow:
