Mayfly and Tonar are at it again

This is just a real flippin' beauty Trevor  :glasses9:
I am voting for this girl over Kashmir...

I am a bit torn though between the clear PG and just no PG at all

It's a lot easier and less expensive to replace a pickguard than a finish. That's why pickguards exist in the first place.

But, in the videos I've seen, Trevor isn't a particularly violent or aggressive player, so he might be able to forgo a pickguard altogether. Only way to know for sure would be to look at the pickguards on his other guitars and see if they've taken much abuse.

In any event, it's a clear guard, so you can still see that fantastic finish. Best of both worlds, I suppose.

He's got 30 Teles anyway and a full time job and family.  How much individual use could each of them get?  I like pickguards on Fender shapes, but wear from use isn't a bad thing.  From what I've seen, he can be a heavy picker.  That vid of him with Kashmir....?

The original intention was to do a rear route and not use a pickguard or control plate.  That would have been really clean and shown the paint job the best but the body builder could not put the rear route along with the bender route. It still looks killer!

Did you have to take any finish off the edges of the neck pocket to get the neck to fit? It looks like a good fit.

you know, all I want to know is if you are planning on putting that Ducati back to it's original colors
Poor Bike, It is a Ducati, My God why did you do that?

Not my bike, it was the inspiration for this guitar though. Mayfly wanted something different as usual and this paint fit the bill.

Mayfly holds great power over my life, he holds the key to life and death for me because some day he might send me a PM saying he wants a white guitar and I would drop dead from shock right on the spot.   :laughing3: :laughing3: :laughing3:

I agree it looks killer!

The neck joint is pretty sloppy actually.  The neck pocket is looser than Courtney Love's...., er, ....morals.

In many ways this WDMusic body, although pre-routed for the bender, is a long long way from warmoth quality.
But don't worry - I'll make a killer instrument out of it!

IMHO  that's all

I like the idea of the transparent pickguard, after Tonar explained the body build process ....... good compromise. :icon_thumright:

The neck pickup could still be mounted EVH style, right.  That only leaves the control plate, but who cares?  The Tele control plate is already unobtrusive as it is.

How about a clear plate for covering that bender? Also I need an opinion on the PW Bender. While I would much rather have a G bender than a B bender, it looks that that PW bender is really high quality. I like how it is mounted to the body rather than the backplate....

Poor Courtney,, just because she has live a life letting her self be used harder than a retread on a logging truck you judge her morals as loose.

In "The People vs. Larry Flynt," not only was Courtney Love not acting, it's doubtful she even knew they were filming a movie.

You know, when I was a kid, and I saw how weird people were in the 60's, I never really thought people from my generation would be thought of as weird by people of later generations. Cause you know, we were cool.

Hehe! I know what you mean. And I'm damn glad there are few pictures of me from when I was growing up, because I'd hate anyone to think I wasn't as cool as I am now <grin>

that's why I wear jeans and a tee with chuck taylors. always in style. (and if they ever go out of style, something is drastically wrong with the world)
