Is it "owner," finished or "non-Warmoth," finished? If Owner and Warmoth are the two options, I'll never get to enter my P. Which I don't have yet.

i think professional finish falls under Warmoth finish

So all those Tonar finished guitars need to go up against Warmoth? Okay, then my Sims paint job will too I guess.

if you put the finish on it yourself...it goes here.

If anyone else finished the guitar/bass...it goes in the PRO/WARMOTH finished category.  The only Rub would be if TONAR enters one of his own guitars...he needs to have his own category!!! :laughing3:

I'll nominate DangerousR6's KrankenStein.  It's not a Warmoth, but the precedent has been set already.  The Danish Oil on the Walnut with Maple stringers does it for me.  The Ziricote ain't bad looking either, and it has a Floyd.

Thanks Gary, it is part Warmoth, the neck is a Warmoth neck... :icon_biggrin:

I remember the neck is, but this is a finish category, and the neck has no finish.  I was nominating for the body alone, even though the neck is killer.

i will say the backgrounds are getting better as well...except for the Dallas beach towel....

I just bolted the neck onto the On Fire Flame Tele today. WOW!  I changed direction on the pickups from the set of Joe Barden’s that I have to a Duncan 54 for the neck and a Jerry Donahue for the bridge. I’m still waiting for the bridge pickup to arrive so it will not be ready for this month be its getting thrown into the next round of owner finished guitars.  I sure hope I can find a glacier in my back yard for the photo shoot.

I know, just wanted to let people know that it is 50% Warmoth.... :hello2:

OK...we have the gratuitous guitar by the pool, but my vote is going to the guitar being held by a bikini clad babe by the pool  :evil4:

OK, I'll bite.  This is the Tele I built.  Now I am unashamed of all of the toys in the background as well.  Doing my best on this go around to steal one of these here things...

The body is Flamed Maple laminate on Korina.  I dyed the maple three times with Black, Red and then Yellow sanding back when appropriate to get the fire dye look.  The korina was washed about 5 times with Naphtha to remove as much of the surface oil as possible, and then dyed amber.  It turned a nuclear carrot color on me, so I washed it back out with acetone to mute the color of the body.  The dyes were from Reranch, and are the alcohol dyes that are sold there.  If you click on the picture, there is a 3 Meg one it links to.

The Neck is insane.  It is a macassar ebony neck with a macassar ebony board.  It looks about right in this shot, and is purty darn hard to get a representative picture of.  The pedals are mostly home grown, and bad jokes...

I got most everything but the pickups from the Big Dubya, and I have been an addict ever since.
Patrick

You have the 'Walnut" or "Valnott?"  Do you use it to dial in the madness?

Are you one of these guys?
