so sitting here waiting for my new knobs and had some time to kill . This neck did not have face dots or side dots , I do like no face dots but I was lost without side dots . I just so happen to have a piece of Luminlay here http://www.luminlay.com/indexen.html  and the light I got for a previous build and never used . I'm sure it's way easier to drill out an existing dot but this was a pretty big deal for me , crappy drill , wrong drill bit and so on but I went for it and I'm very happy with the results , check it out...

before , you see the stick of dot material and the mini light you get from them

I went 1 at a time and left the neck on up to the 12th fret where I had to remove it to get the drill in .

followed their install guide , sanded it and resealed it with Minwax wipe-on . And there is still a good bit left over , drilling only about 4mm in and cutting it off with a coping saw

this stuff is cool !

That's cool, but... you seem to have left out a lot of information. I can't tell what you did except to install some plastic dots.http://unofficialwarmoth.com/Smileys/Lots_O_Smileys/dontknow.gif

Surely there's more information you can give about where and how you installed the mini light.

The mini light is for charging/recharging the luminescence in the inlay material in low light conditions.
IE: no daylight available.

I'd want a bigger light. Hate to plug the charger/recharger in backwards because I couldn't see.

Monster's teeth don't glow in the dark. It's just that they never brush and they eat a lot of Luminlay at night while nobody's looking.

it makes a lot of sense for Warmoth to jump on this. Many fine builders & boutique instrument makers are just starting to use it . They could get it in bigger stock quantities and keep the price pretty attractive. Probably offer the led charger too . It would be a supply / demand thing and it seems like you guys would go for it . It looks great IMO, still effective in non glow mode and it's way less obnoxious & costly than LED's which are just too damn bright . They also make a super cool black / glow dot for light colored woods .

This is pretty cool, and it seems like they wouldn't have to do anything they're not already doing other than order the material.  I'd order it!

"Sorry about that wedding anniversary thing, babe, I had to recharge my side dots...." More stuff to worry about. Playing in the dark is good for you.

I'd say 15 to 20 min  as that dies down they stay faintly glowing for hours . They are only super bright right after a charge for maybe 3 to 5 min . give or take . ea dot takes about 5 to 10 sec. to charge so you should have plenty of time to get out on stage , go to your wedding anniversary thing or do a mission in ME3 .
