Oh - that's sad look. No strings - no pickup.  :sad1:

Send it to me and I give it the love it deserves!  :sign13:

I looked around - but I only got replicas of my weird mind envisions - so no pictures.  :icon_jokercolor:

You'll like this. I used to think the Billy Bo was one of the weirdest, ugliest, dumbest guitars I had ever seen. Then Billy Gibbons showed up somewhere with one painted up like a hot rod and I fell in love with it. Now, I couldn't be a bigger fan. Great guitar, man. How does that huge block of wood sound? Great sustain I would imagine.

Dammit!! Now I want a Billy Bo!

Mully, I thought the same thing when I first seen Bo Diddley playing one. Then when I say the rev Willy with one, I wanted one. Mine isn't heavy at all its fully hollow, but it is looooong. I should have went with the 24.75 conversion neck, a regular 25.5 neck just feels like its a mile long. And the actual scale on a real Billy Bo is 24.625..

And he uses spiderwebs for strings. Normally plays 7s, puts 8s on the guitars he plays slide on. Anybody who thinks you need to use guy wires for strings to get good tone has never heard Billy play. There's an interview with his tech here, where he shows off all the gear and talks about.

Yah, I tripped out when I first heard him talk about the gauge of strings he uses. He must have a super light touch, cause I can just look at 8's and shyt starts breaking..

And for years I thought SRV's profuse sweating was from all his cocaine use, and I see now it was from wrestling them 13's..

I think Billy has keen sense of humor.  He puts everything out there and grants full access, but at the same time, you don't know if what you're hearing is what you're seeing.  One sees exactly what he wants you to see.  Whether it's a refrigerator sized Marshall rack system or a Fender 112 iso-cab, nevermind the Crate stage props.  There's so much smoke and mirrors, and now his tech is in on it too.  My favorite Billy rumor is that his signal runs through a processor so that no matter what guitar he's playing, it sounds like Pearly.  I think his rig is more simple than anyone gives him credit for, including his odd string gauge preference.  He is a showman afterall.  If people are talking, that's good for business.

Everyone loves ZZ top, and I don't mean to say his tone stinks... But I rarely hear people obsess over the details of his rig except for whether he's pulling your leg or not. Exquisite tone is not what makes ZZ top. Billy's tone COULD suck really bad and I don't think it would detract a whole heck of a lot from the band. Which really leaves me puzzled at his at times EVHish paranoia about someone stealing his soul I mean his tone.

Well, in all fairness to aspiring guitarists around the world, these professional musicians have huge, huge amounts of gear that their guitars are run through so we will almost NEVER be able to achieve that kind of tone. We've all seen it here and on other forums, "I want to sound like EVH, Zakk Wylde, Slash, (add your favorite guitarist here) and that just isn't possible by buying a guitar, an amp, and a few stomp boxes. I don't care how "simple" these guys say their rigs are, they aren't as simple as plugging straight into your 25w bedroom transistor Marshall, or running through a Tube Screamer. So yeah, Billy can get monster tone with 8's on his guitars. I know a guy with a Hamer Explorer and he runs through a Mesa Mark II and has this bunch of stuff in a rack unit that he plays through. His tone is massive. I plugged him into my Dual Rectifier, which I plug straight into with no effects, and his tone wasn't anything near what he was getting through that rack he has. FWIW, I prefer that massive tone he was getting, I just can't afford all that stuff.

His guitars you see him use on stage are smoke and mirrors too. The O.G. Billy Bo is in a vault next to Pearly and doesn't go anywhere, so he says. The ones we see are "replica's" made by a "custom" guitar maker.. :dontknow:
