After about half a year of researching, planning, and deciding, I finally ordered my les paul build. This build is inspired by the PRS Modern Eagle II and all the other awesome washed blue dye builds on this forum. I just can't get enough of that blue jean/rosewood combo!

Here are the specs:
Body:
Standard LP
Flame maple on Mahogany
Washed blue dye top, clear gloss back
Ivoroid Binding
WCR Darkburst/Crossroads combo
Push Pull knobs

Neck:
LP Indian rosewood neck and fingerboard
59 Roundback
Schaller locking tuners
Graph Tech Tusq Black XL nut
SS6105 frets
24 3/4 scale length

Now it's a matter of waiting... :laughing3: :)

you say push pull pots? What's the plan there? Jimmy Page wiring?  :icon_biggrin:
Oh sorry, by push pull I only meant the volume pots. The Jimmy Page wiring has too many options, and I probably wouldn't be able to recognize the difference between each anyway. I just want to split each pickup to get a single coil vibe.

yes! sounds like a les paul take on the PRS modern eagle II. this means i will like it very VERY much :icon_biggrin:

I will look forward to seeing how the finish turns out. The Warmoth faded blue looks nice, but so far I haven't seen one that really matches what PRS did with it. Doesn't mean it's bad, it's just a different appearance.

why has no one tried to render this in a Kisekei?
Whoops, my bad, I should have posted my "idea" early.

Obviously the finish is going to look a lot different (in a good way), but SC Guitar editor has been a great help. I'm hoping the finish will turn out more like this VIP.

That looks amazing man, can't wait to see this complete!

I have been debating if a Les Paul with binding "needs" to have a bound neck as well.
I had been of the opinion "yes" till I saw your mockup.

Now I'm leaning toward "no", and am browsing the showcase.

That looks great.

I fully approve!

And the unbound neck is great.  A) you can get stainless frets that way; and B) they are a lot easier to maintain.  In passing (unfortunately litteraly this time) - that's the reason the late great Gary Moore's LP model has an unbound neck.

Thanks guys, I'm glad everyone likes it!

I've never really heard of Gary Moore (shocking, but true), but I understand that he has been a great influence to guitarists everywhere. Looks like my build is going to be more than just a custom guitar.

Just found a vid of Gary playing beautifully with George and Ringo:

That was my 16th birthday.
