Albert king, Elliot Easton, Dick Dale

--Albert King was a blues great. And is part of the "Three Kings of Blues Guitar" along with Freddie King and B.B. King. See link and vid below.
--Elliot Easton is the lead guitarist for The Cars. See link and vid below.
--Dick Dale is a Surf Guitar God and one of the creators of the genre. His most famous song "Misirlou" was used as the opening theme music for the movie Pulp Fiction. See link and vid below.

Just... they have so many good guitars... for so little!

AND THE IBANEZES!

I hear ya'.  Hell there's not even a lefty-emotionicon, just righties!  :party07: :guitarplayer2:

Holy Carp!

THE HANDISM!

I'm Offended!

Its a good thing this Forum is Unofficial, because If it WAS Official I would sue Warmoth for the discrimination.

It would have been okay though.

the settlement would be about 4 or 5 really nice Guitars...

Marcio Rangel. He also plays with it strung right-handed...

I'm a proud lefty. I definitely relish being "different." It's pretty cool being the one whose axe is pointing in the other direction.

As far as my favorite professional lefty ... it's hard to say. I do like Elliot Easton; the Cars were great, but I couldn't call him my "favorite." I don't really have a "favorite" anything; I like all different kinds. Variety is the spice of life.

I'm a big Albert King fan, though. That dude and his upside down and backwards Flying V were pretty awesome. Otis Rush is another great, obviously. And, Doyle Bramhall II is cool. Which presents a theme. Even though I play with the treble strings near the floor and bass strings on top ("normal" orientation, mirror-image of a righty), I really respect the dudes who play a righty in reverse.

Edit: I voted for Tony, just because he's a badass for playing even after he chopped of the tips of his right-hand fingers at a metalworks. So dedicated that he got prosthetics so he could keep playing. Got to admire that.

I'm a partial lefty who plays righty because it makes more sense to have my good hand on the frets.

Doug Pinnick is a bad ass lefty bass player (King's X)

Same here. Makes more sense. I feel the stereotype is a mistake.  :icon_scratch:

Im a lefty who plays left handed i would have to vote for Dick Dale the godfather of heavy metal.

I voted for Elliot Easton, the only one on the list I listen to on a regular basis. I'm a lefty and a bass player but I DO play a bit of guitar in my home studio. Here are my lefty guitars:

Lefty here who plays righty.  I don't see how righties play this way; my most dexterious hand is on the fingerboard doing the most intricate work.  And besides that, what does it matter?  When you learn, you can't do anything with either hand worth a crap.  I think it's kind of weird we have lefty guitars.  After all, how many lefty pianos have you seen?  Trumpets?  Clarinets?

I believe the trombone is ambidextrous.

Aside from 1 or 2 one-offs there aren't left handed clarinets.

^^That one was made for a player that couldn't raise their ... whichever hand does the most moving on a clarinet.
Lefty trumpets are easier to find though

The trombone pictured is being played right handed.  I agree about their ambidextrousity, as the slide can ne rotated 180 degrees, but a trigger would have to be designed for orientation.

With all due respect, how is Dick Dale the "The Godfather of Heavy Metal"?  Father of Surf, yes.
On that note, its good to see the thread I started going strong after all this time away from the forum.
