Latest Tele for me

Wow, looks pretty good.  That's a killer gift!

Shame about the big pink spot on the pickguard....looks like you'll have to keep it.  :laughing7:

No pics right now, but we're all leveled, and about 1/3 leveled out.  Pics to follow.....

Nice tele, I like sparkly guitars...

And as for the Harley thing, everyone knows Harley's are junk, especially the guy that built it and the dude was just trying to keep his buddies passified by putting the emblems back on...

Personally, I'm not so keen on the intake, the lights, the bags, the exhaust or the seat... just to name a few things.  Then again, I'm more old school

Hadda reclear the sides... too thin.  That meant I needed to get more naphtha - I was down to nuthin'.  Thats all done, so now it needs to set up for a few.  Maybe Sunday we can see some more polish on it.

I'm using another "experimental" lacquer, and so far so good.  This stuff should yellow, and it should also check fairly easily.

For that matter, I'm "just beginning" to see some check marks on the Les Paul Standard (faded) that I did the top on.  That was done in Deft, and I'm just starting to see some stress lines in it, running counter to the grain.  I say cool!~

update -  a break in the weather let me reshoot a bit of clear to correct a thin spot, thats all done, been set up since last saturday (or was it friday).  It was level to start with, so shrinkage will be minimal.  I leveled it today, buffed it out.

Neck mounted, ferrules in, bridge on.  Tomorrow, pickguard, control plate, then string it up and put on the hold down and buttons.  I'll dink it bit and set up the neck and nut while I'm waiting for the jack plate (thought I had one).   Then its pretty much ready to ship up to Virginnee

Got the scratchplate, control plate and strap buttons on it.  Its ready to be strung up and the nut fine tuned.  Then I gotta radius the edges of the top of the nut, stick that all back together.  Then wire it up, do the setup and we're good to go.

W@$@# I thought I had a LP jack plate here. WER@#$@#$@#$@#G  Might have to go grab one locally.

Well, its strung up, with a quickie non measured setup... tuned up.... and played acoustic a bit.

Very lively tele.  Its an extremely light guitar, virtually the same weight as the Thinline in the pics.  When holding both at the same time, hard to tell the difference in weight.

He's good - been layin low, been here a short while back tho

Rigth now the DSL is dodgy (wire prob in back yard, cant get fixed till 29th they say!), or I'd post some pics of the thinline.

I did that with brown filler two coats, black filler two coats, all sanded back smooth.  Then shellac two coats to seal the body, then Mohawk amber toner and then Deft lacquer.
