Anyone out there that loves good tone would appreciate this. Langcaster guitars. They CLAIM that the wood they use is about 35,000 years old, dug up out of the ground. Ancient Kauri wood. Some have probably heard of it. Whether it's that old or not. They're AWESOME Sounding and Looking guitars. I encourage everyone to check it out and listen to the sound clips.

At first glance, I totally thought the title of this thread was something else  :tard:

I totally wanted a body like this:
guit-table.jpg

Asked if he sells only a body twice (:laughing7:) first he said "no", second he didn't answer :laughing7:
Tried to ask then to a wood seller in Australia, they didn't answer...
If anybody knows a place where I can buy this wood, tells me :D

That wood does look very tasty, its some wood from New Zealand called "Swamp Kauri" which takes a LONG time before the tree is ready to be chopped down and used; this wood can also be prone to cracking.
They also claim they have "the best pickups in the world", don't know how many times I've heard that one...

Just got a quote from Cedric from Ancient Wood, he says a Kauri body blank in the highest figured level is $144... Expensive, but not absurdly, if you think the amont of work to take the wood from the ground, etc...

I think I may buy one :D

$144 bucks!!!!!!!! That's a way better price than Koa. I though this wood would price in the thousands! I'm gonna get me one!  :toothy12:

Wow.  Only $144?  I too figured it'd be way higher.

Gosh, I like seeing nice wood, my own guitars all have some grain showing, but those things are super ugly to me. Makes me want to get alpine white on my next one, whenever that is.

I have fired off an email to a company in New Zealand as i would like to purchase some and do a body, i love the heavy look in the grain.
and some of those guitars that have been posted look superb especially in satin poly.
