This has been asked before and I don't think any of the regulars on the board have ever used them. I played a MIM Strat that had a set installed a guy had at a blues jam session last year and was underwhelmed. Just plugged straight into a Fender tube amp they sounded "thin" and treblely as compared to a set of regular pickups.
I have tried them. They weren't what I was hoping for. They lack any real character. This is my personal opinion. However if you would really like to try them I will let my set go for very little money.
The guy I borrowed the Strat with a set from was getting OK sound, but was playing through a pile of stomp boxes. Plugged straight into a Fender tube amp, a Strat with a set no longer sounds like a Strat.
