hell yeah it will be loud enough. I have an 18 watt tube amp that you wouldn't believe. Especially if you use a 2x12 ot a 4x12 cab - you shouldn't have any trouble being louder than a drummer.

to the 50 watt question...my fender Hot Rod is only 40 watts with a 1x12 and CRANKS!  It will not only be load enough but I have to turn it down.  I have run it thru a Marshall 4x12 and it sounds SICK!

50W is plenty of power.  I've gigged med-large shows (400 people) with 30W with no trouble

ok now does the size of the cab make a difference? i want a 1x12 for easy of transport but a 4x12 for presence. does it change the sound at all?

a 4x12 will be a bit louder and have a fuller sound - but even a 1x2 with 50 watts behind it is going to blast your ear drums.

Seriously...take a look at the FENDER HOT ROD.  It come with 40 watts and single 12.  you can add any cabinate to it but fender started making a matching 1x12 cabinate loaded with a celestion speaker.  Really makes it full sounding.
