I saw that, and came within a hair's breadth of bidding on it, too. But, I figured since it was a soloist, there'd be a flurry of sniping at the end and I wasn't going to get into that. Might end up paying more than I wanted to and it wouldn't have been such a great deal then. I'm really surprised that went as low as it did, especially since it had hardware and pickups on it as well. Usually soloists go for a pretty good penny.

As attractive as the all-maple neck is, it's still no contest: the ebony over maple. It'll look better, and you won't have to deal with a finished fingerboard.
