Just Ordered Two Bodies

Hi Guys! First post here so I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Joe and I live in Dublin, Ireland. I have owned a HUGE amount of guitars over the years but for me nothing compares to the feel of the current Fender US Standard necks. Unfortunately however I'm a humbucker guy and not too fond of Fenders current colour offerings so I've decided to piece together my ideal Strats. So far I've picked up two maple Am Std necks, two hipshot trems and some Seymour Duncans off Ebay and tonight I bought the two most stunning bodies from the Warmoth showcase.

Body 1:

Super light swamp ash body in my favourite Fender colour, surf green. It has a contoured heel and H/S/H routing.

Body 2:

Rear routed tiger burst body. It has a contoured heel and will be routed h/h. No idea what the body wood is, I bought it the second I saw it without hesitation  :glasses10:

Now the waiting game begins  :(

#2 quilt/alder body (4lbs, 4oz)

(I was going to order it... :tard:)

Nice bodies.  I have to admit, originally I thought the title was a little morbid, then I thought I haven't watched, "Young Frankenstein," recently and maybe I need to recharge those batteries.  I like both of the guitar bodies though.  Very tasty.  If you like the Fender neck, the Standard thin is a pretty good approximation of it.  When/if you decide to try a neck from Warmoth that is built out of Raw wood, like Canary, or Wenge, or Bubinga, or Pau Ferro, or...  That might be the profile you look at.  Welcome to Warmotholic's Anonymous.

Both very cool, good choices. You have the best of both worlds: the elegant figured  maple top and the super cool Fender Pastel. I am totally validating the  money you spent! Let us know about your progress...

Welcome, Joe! I almost like the Surf Green better! I have a thing for green. Very excellent choices. What kind of necks were you planning to put on there? My personal favorite is a one piece Maple, but I'm curious! Can't wait to see where these bodies go. Excellent choices!

Nice grab on the Quilt Maple / Alder  :icon_thumright: That lasted as long (NOT LONG) on the showcase as my very recent Black Quilt Strat.

Your lucky I've got 3 builds happening or I might have beaten you to that one  :laughing7:  :icon_jokercolor:

Here's a shot of the back of your's

Nice variations.....one body with classic looks and the other one is  something eniterly different.....awsome tiger burst and the quilt pattern. :)

I agree on current US necks. I have 2010 Strat, and it´s one of the most enjoyable necks I have played, and the rest of the guitar is awsome too. But my new Warmoth VM tele neck is very close. :)

Hey thanks for uploading the back pic, I didnt get much of a chance to save anything :) The moment I saw it I was not gonna chance anyone getting in there before me so I just pounced on it without reading any of the description.

I saw the black quit body (and quite a few other bodies) you have in the just arrived section. You sir have impeccible taste.

I do want a Tele so there could be another build soon, if so I will def go the raw wood route! Also, Young Frankenstein, what a film! I'm after finding out the whole thing is on youtube so there goes my next 2 hours in work  :headbang1:
