@Jusatele: fantastic, I love seeing CJ-6's. I love seeing those old Jeeps!

Don't care what you've done, did, or do.  You claim all of these people on forums are a bunch of  "gossiping idiots," I believe you called them, yet you haven't provided any credible proof that you're any different from these people you accuse of such, so why should I take your word over theirs?  :icon_scratch:

And clearly you didn't remedy these problems, because if you did, I wouldn't keep seeing them on Charger/Challenger/Wrangler forums or YouTube clips.  :icon_scratch:

xD you infer all, I implied many.

and "these" problems is vague. I remedied or offered the remedy for many of the problems I've stated. I will be the first to agree that many of these remedies can be less than satisfactory.

your inference comes from you forming a complete concept of me from incomplete data. what you assume and what is stated can vary greatly.

I don't really give a hoot who's advice you pick. you asked for those with experience to weigh in. whether or not some whining words on a screen approve of what I have said is of little consequence to me.

my 67 cj5 has been totally rebuilt
I modded in a D30 front end and modified the steering from a ross  system to a hybird ross with a tie rod and a ford reversed steering box from a exploder
I have 4.88 gears and Detroit auto lockers front and rear
it runs the original 225 dauntless v6 with a t18 transfer case and I replaced the original 3 speed with a late 60s 3 speed, the 67 tranny was weak. I run 2 inches of lift and 31s and crawl everywhere my buddies do on 35s
it has custom made skid plates and rocker panels and bumpers all of which I welded up, I run a warn 9500 pound power plant winch(on board air is part of the unit) and I run both CB and 2 meter, (yes I have a HAM license, general class). I put in custom seats and a 4 point seat belt system to hold everyone in tight, I carry about 100 pounds of safety, recovery and tools and have a onboard welder.
I have a propane conversion kit for it but have never installed it as I need to get out and rebuild the entire roll bar system to carry the 2 ten gallon propane tanks and at that point I it will be a trailer queen so I do not have to carry propane for the trip out and back
Having had the entire drive train rebuilt the year I got it I have the faith in it as if it was new in 67
the cj6 has e original D27 in the front and I love to show up at events and have it crawled all oer as it is all original except the lift and tires, oh it has a 225 dauntless in it too. funny for a 225 inch v6 you get 160 HP and 225 pounds of torque, it never stalls, and crawls with the best.
those are labors of love, you have to search far and wide for parts and they are not cheap when found, but I just love my old iron.
My Tj was a beast, and if I could find a Ruby TJ street queen with half doors I would build another. The JK is nice and the wife loves it, but I truly am not allowed to break it anymore so I just leave it alone.
4x4ing has been my life besides music. I grew up in a family that we used to take the Wagoneer out and go camping and fishing all the time so it has been in my blood since I was in diapers. I think I will keep the CJ6 till I die. It gets less miles on it every year but that is ok as It is a part of history.
I love Jeeps, have had other brands of 4x4s but I always come back to my Jeeps universal platform, weather that is a cj, yj tj or jk, the universal platform has proven to be the basis of 4x4ing sinca the MB of WWII and still proudly carries the flag forward.
You can get a lot more comfortable SUV, but it is true, once it gets into your blood, it is a Jeep thing others just do not understand.

Oh, but it IS a consequence to you, otherwise you wouldn't make the generalization I was making a "complete concept" of you, I simply asked you why I should take your word over theirs given your severe lack of any proof to back up your statements.

Sprinkles it is good you piped in, I think he was wondering more about issues that show up during wheeling.
I have always had a very good working relationship with my dealer with new jeeps, O always knew what voided the warranty and accepted that, but original parts I held them to and they worked with m because I send a lot of business to the dealership. I let people know that if you admit what you did, they willtreat you right and they are totally trained on the new jeeps. I gove them my service business and buy parts from them when I work on the jeep.
I also let them show off the CJs on big weekends when they want a few od jeeps aroound for customers to drool over, It helps their sales to have a 40 year old built jeep on the lot, proves the new Wranglers will last a long time. Jeeps have never been perfect vehicles and guys who love them accept the quirks. But that is part of the love story, after all without a few arguments would you love your wife the way you do?

xD totally, I am glad to hear you don't plan to let that CJ-6 go. If I had a functional old jeep in decent shape (this is Utah, non beat Jeeps are RARE here!) I'd treat it like a family member too!

Honestly I love the old stuff. but I just enjoy all the wimpy niceties of the newer Jeeps. Adding to that I am not the type to crawl, I prefer to run fire roads and generally see how fast and stupid I can go off pavement. So I've never needed giant lifts. Near stock plus Armor and mild engine mods works for me. I trail when I have somewhere to go, otherwise I run!

when you look at any car with a fine tooth comb you'll find imperfections. Its not like these things disqualify the car, everything has its flaws. everyone their own tastes. but as stock vehicles I really have no complaints for the last two generations.

I actually got my job at the first dealership by being a Jeep Nut. It was a horrid place but I gained a great deal of knowledge from Pro's who'd been wrenching on Jeeps since before I was born. and while I no longer work for ANY dealerships. I am happy for what I gained.

It is a Jeep thing. Even the dealers understand. It goes so far beyond a simple car.

I'd love to get a 4x4 & have fun with it (off road)
I can appreciate them no matter the make.  I think these are the usual suspects in offroading:

Quoted from my ORIGINAL post:
]Anyway, given I needed a new vehicle, I chose to order a new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited (4dr).  Just wondering if anyone else here owns one and how he/she likes it.
I guess that wasn't clear enough for some people.

Basically I was looking for how people liked living with their Jeep Wranglers on a daily basis, plus some off-roading, and basically just...enjoying the vehicle.  I've already done the homework of weighing out the pros and cons on going with a 2012 over finding a 2011 leftover.

I started seriously looking into Jeep Wranglers back in 2010, far before the Pentastar showed up in the Wrangler.  I've done more than my fair share of research on 3.8s and 3.6s.

Anyway, I'm excited, and I can't wait to meet up with some of those very cool, "gossiping idiots" I've met through some of the forums within the past year and a half.  :cool01:

I prefer the guys I've met on the trails, fire roads and campsites.

*Cue passive aggressive Emoticon*

And I'm sure some of these people you "prefer" would be thrilled to find out you think of them as "gossiping idiots."

I dare you to tell them.

I took a Tae Bo class a couple years ago,

And provided there is energetic dance music

I know I could beat them all up.

Good to know, I'll keep that in mind in case we ever cross paths.  I wouldn't want to make you angry, I wouldn't like you when you're angry.  :tard:
