The song was "Shine" by Final Placement. It's truly amazing. I've already scheduled a time to get my "Final Placement" tattoo.

Wow - I guess there is hope for me as both a guitarist and a singer. Everyone's comments are much funnier now that I have seen the video. Thanks Hannaugh! Not really sure about the cover video though - what was that all about?

After watching this, some might feel inspired, saying to themselves "well, at least I'm not that bad." However, for a dyed-in-the-wool pessimist such as myself, this video is reason enough to stop trying to write songs, and especially to sing. What if I really am that bad?

I mean, i really tried, i watched the video like 3 times trying to see some talent in this, there's like 0.02 seconds in that solo that do sound pretty cool, but as a whole package, i say this one is "Cringe-worthy"
it just kills me to know that people like this who honestly are just perpetuating a sound that they hear on tv and the radio can make it big enough to get their music recorded and have videos put out, :doh:
all the while when this is happening, i have one of my friends playing like THIS all day, everyday just a few miles down my street and working a factory job!

They can only get better. They're young. While it's easy (and fun) to take jabs, if they'd concentrate on their craft instead of an image it would go much faster.
If you ask me, their image is incredibly homogenized. Cartman's fake Christian band on Southpark was more original image-wise.
I don't think they're actually paying attention to their image at all. I think they are trying to get their message out and think that this is the way to do it, whether they sound good or not.

The non-instrument sequences filmed at what looks like a Subway restaurant where he's singing into the camera while sitting at the table. The "I'm walking the streets with my lyrics like a mature adult on the way to somewhere important with sultry pouting" and the 2 band members texting while hanging out by the ATM. That's the image stuff I was talking about. BTW, the drummer is only in the shots when the band is playing. He probably is older and has a job.
