haha to be honest after watching the whole thing i think the solo was the best part! and the drumming wasn't too bad. the rest? just... wow. that singing was painful, and i don't actually have words for how bad the guitars were

I don't think it's a joke.  There is potential.  These guys appear to all be beginners and don't really have a clue what is going on but are after an image.  The singer needs to project more and sing in his key (after finding it) and maybe spend more money but most of all more attention on production value of the audio.  One of the best and worst things for a beginning band is having "yes men" in the form of friends and family all around you telling you how you good you are and paying for your efforts.  It makes you dillusional to the reality of how you really sound, which sometimes you need.  Often times just hearing a recording of yourself can open your eyes, in this case it didn't.  These guys are horrible (but won't always be, IMO) and have probably been playing less than a year.  FWIW, my Christian Music radar was going off the charts.

Well, the vocals are doubled (badly), and if you look closely, the bass player is mouthing some words in the freight elevator shot .... maybe that justifies him having a mic .....

Don't forget the pick holder. Fingerstyle players with picks on their mic stands are just so badass!...

...but not as badass as watching the fretboard the whole time you play! That's the ultimate of cool!
