JBass neck align slightly off

hello everyone
I just got a Jazz Bass neck from Warmoth that I wanted to use with a JB body that I got time ago, not from Warmoth, but from another equally trusty manufacturer (don't know if I can name it on here) that garantees true fender specs for their body.
By the way, the neck and the body don't seem to fit togheter very well.
Indeed, when the neck is in the pocket, the 4 holes are not aligned with those on the body. Instead, if I align the holes, the neck is a little bit far from the body. Check the picture for a better explaination (sorry for my bad english).
So what do you suggest me:
1) mount it with that little gap, like on the picture, and compensate moving the bridge saddles (afterall the pickguard should cover the gap)
2) fill the existing holes (on the neck or on the body) and drill new holes that align properly
3) other?

I would let the pickguard hide the anomaly. Trying to move the holes such a small distance is quite likely to cause more headaches than it's worth, and it'll still be invisible because of the pickguard.

Exactly, with the over cut being at the end and not side to side, I wouldn't worry. You could do a quick check of the scale length, but I'd imagine it will be spot on. :icon_thumright:

Thank you guys,
I was worried about the excessive strain on the screws due to the lack of contact with the pocket edge, but since the neck sits pretty tight and doesn’t move at all even without screws, it should not be a problem.
I just need to check if the gap is visible when the pickguard is mounted, otherwise I may need to fill that gap

Don't worry about it. I've seen worse on factory Fenders.  It should play just fine.
