Just started grain filling my jazzcaster body. Its going to have a solid finish so I used white grain filler. Looks interesting. Something else that was interesting was that when I put the sanding sealer on there some of the white disappeared.  the last two photos are after the sanding sealer was put on and sanded smooth. :dontknow:

Looking good.

One thing I would do now, rather than waiting on it, would be to clean out the mud in the ferrule holes on the back of the guitar.  It's easier to do it now before you get the color coat on.  That way it's easier to repair if you screw up and ding the guitar.

now just to decide upon paint. I was looking at a house of kolor but now Im leaning towards surf green. decisions decisions.

Its slowly but surely coming together. I got a wilkinson bridge and a lil 59 duncan pickup. going for a classic rock machine. Im trying to decide which mini to put in the neck. My pickguard is cut for a duncan but I wish id gotten it cut to gibson specs as Id have more options. The color in the pic is the color im going to paint the body. A friend of mine is doing it for me with automotive paint. Hopefully, he will be able to get to it soon. Im completely undecided upon a neck. Im thinking maple with an ebony board. the electronics is wired up 250k cts pots, vintage wiring, russian green .047 cap, switchcraft jack and an electrosocket cup. I want to try the 250 k's cause I know ash is usually a fairly bright wood and I prefer a bit darker sound. Most of my guitars are Mahogany. Any suggestions you guys have for a neck bucker will be appreciated. oh and its cut for a mini so i cant go full hum.

You could always rout the Mini buckler cavity out and get another pickguard for a full humbucker.

Will the colour be transparent ? The ash grain is nice.

no it will be a solid color. yeah I have a template to route it out full but i wanted something with a mini in it. Im alright with that I just have to find what mini i want lol.  it def is some fine grain. Im reconsidering the color as of late.

Slow is not a Bad Thing. Gives you time to consider what you're doing and make proper choices. Once you've done it a million times successfully, then you can go fast.

this is my fourth one and i am indeed kind of glad for the slow process. Im still debating alot of things from color to which mini humbucker.

Even when all things are decided and all parts are in, I still go slow. Better to do it right than to do it twice. Plus, there's beer to drink and cigarettes to smoke, and all that internet porn won't download itself  :laughing7:

LOVE that color, actually.  One cautionary note: be REALLY sure your grain is completely filled before you start putting paint on it.  Otherwise, it's going to take a LOT of paint to lose any grain that comes up.  I'd probably grain fill and sand back again, just to be sure.
