I have a slanted control plate (Rutters) on my Bari-Tele and I really prefer this switching angle, seems like it is more ergonomically in keeping with the arc of my picking hand radius from the point of the elbow.

Totally agree. The Rock Rabbit unit I later installed has a much more natural angle for switching. Also, they move the volume pot hole 1/2" further away from the switch, which gives that much more room. Really like it.
