Is there any reason?

HI,

I'm assuming there might be technical/manufacturing reasons why, but how come I can't get a Warmoth angled neck in Pau Ferro or Goncalo Alves? At least not on the builder.

Pau Ferro and Goncalo are both very waxy woods. Perhaps they don't glue well in a scarf joint.

:sad1: Double sad even. I'm now leaning toward Koa or Walnut with a Pau Ferro fingerboard. Line6man would you happen to know if Tru-Oil counts as a hard finish?

Yes, it does.

Good news then! Thank you very much for that, it opens up my options a bit as I would like top finiosh myself, but don't wanna do the nitro, risk death via brutal cancerous crap option. I like tru-Oil though, good stuff.

Why on earth would you want a wood with a hard finish?

I'm only saying that due to the thing on the Warmoth site- I assume it's related to warranty?

Most of the raw exotics don't require a finish to satisfy the warranty, adn feel great too.  Maple, Mahogany, and a few others do require a finish.

Maybe I just read it wrong . Anyone have any thoughts on the SG neckdive issue and those lovely but heavy neck woods? My little mind is breaking with the agony of choice. The body will be Black Korina so about medium on that end.

My only thought is how much heavier is the neck you want than the neck that comes stock on a SG? Neck Dive is extremely frustrating.
Here is one more thought, Do you want a Axe you are playing and gigging with? or a show piece?
It is hard to take a beautiful guitar out and bang it around on stage, they start getting nicks and dents quick when they get taken out of the house.
So how much do you want to invest into a axe you are going be onstage or in a garage where guys are moving around and bumping into things?

The neck I've been thinking of is Wenge, but the guitar is for home playing only and won't be bashed about.

well then a exotic neck will not get banged up much, and at home neck dive is not that much of an issue.

The trigger she is pulled, sorry about the umming and aaahing crew. Just trying to avoid buyers remorse.
