Man, not to turn this into a wishlist thread but all I really want is the AANJ.
I continue to push for it every chance I get. Maybe 2026 will be the year.

Or even better.
Someone go figure out the licensing for the Stephen’s Extended Cutaway. Washburn is hoarding the best bolt on design ever.
I talked to John Saba many times when I used to take guitars there for re frets/mods. On Eastlake.Oh look, the Stephen’s Cutaway is expired and now public domain:
US4905563A - Stringed musical instrument - Google Patents
A stringed musical instrument wherein the interconnection between the main body portion and the neck is arcuate in shape whereby the two parts may be quickly and easily aligned during manufacture without requiring a restructuring.patents.google.com
I know Warmoth would sell at LEAST twos of these cause I’d be buying twos minimum. But heck of an investment setting up a supply chain for the neck plates and I would also guess a separate stash of blanks for the extra width. I’ll keep dreaming.
Thank you, Spud is a little slow!AANJ= All Access Neck Joint as in most Ibanez models.
Why you gotta call me out like that?See, I think the Strat is ubiquitous to the point of being boring, sure it’s ergonomic… it’s the orthopedic New Balance shoe of guitars in my opinion![]()
Sorry man! It just doesn’t appeal to me, even though I own one.Why you gotta call me out like that?
Since I own the OG, I can say that the upper horn doesn't get in the way of my thumb at least. If the visual doesn't work for you, that's totally understandable, so no judging here.On the KNS6 -I'm warming up to it as I see it more, but it will take some time.
Here's what I keep noticing:
1) Upper horn is a little too asymmetrical. I keep wanting to pull it back a bit and make a little more thumb space. Yeah, I know - wasn't mean to be another Strat copy, but as others have said, there's a certain magic in that balance for double cutaways.
2) Suffers from the three knob problem with the default control layout. This model screams 2 knobs, but if you remove tone 2, they are too jumbled (as in Aaron's video build) and if you remove tone 1, they are too far apart. Really needs a happy medium. See the recent Soloist solution.
