Is something wrong? (Tremolo Cavity/Cover)

Here's a pic of the back of the explorer Warmoth created for me. I thought that there was supposed to be a small shelf around the top of the cavity so that the tremolo plate would sit flush with the body. However when looking at the guitar the only way I can see to mount the cover is to put it over the top of the whole cavity and raised above the body. I took the back off of my Ibanez RG1570 and it had the recessed shelf around it that I assumed would be on the Explorer. Just wanted to check and see if this isn't correct or if I'm missing something.

Trem covers do indeed "stick up" and do not sit flush. Fenders are the same way.

This is certainly an issue to some, but not a mistake, per se...

looks like they burned through with the buffer there but that may be accepted by there q/a but that's one id complain about because not everyone wants a trem cover. but no the lack of a recess is normal. that's the way fender does it and they don't have a recessed option. people have put it in the suggestion box but warmoth was resistant. yet they did the 720 mod which is a cosmetic mod that is more prone to causeing problems and more difficult to implement. go figure  :dontknow: . they might be more open to adding that now because it seems like they have a different programmer that is not so resistant to change. maybe put it in the suggestion box again.

Glad to hear everything is ok, lol. I'm considering putting the guitar up on ebay and don't want any last minute surprises.  :glasses10:

Thanks!

I think that's reflected light, not burn through.

Yeah the finish on the guitar is flawless, I think there was an overhead light right above the guitar when I took that picture.
