Is it harder to setup a nonrecessed floyd?

I still can't decide what I'm going for here, but I'm leaning to Floyd again instead of hardtail for the next build...
The main plan is to have both of course but thats another story

On my Warmoth soloist it's really easy since I can eyeball that the bridge is perfectly lined up with the body, but on a floyd with angled neck you have to look that it's angled with the neck instead, or is it somehwere in between? I don't get this really

Also I have only played on recessesed floyds, so I'm not sure how I would like the feel of the angled neck floyd... I could just go to a local music store and try out a Charvel (I know they have at least one San Dimas there) but it's the setup I'm mostly worried about

It's not anymore difficult than a stop tom, and a stop tom is twice the angle..I have a hoard of non-recessed Floyds and have had no trouble at all.. :icon_thumright:

No.

And with the playing skills you have it will all be a non-issue.

But the bridge should be aligned with the neck, right?

I am not a Floyd expert but I believe what you are looking for is that the bridge baseplate is perpendicular to the bridge studs.

When I had a guitar with a non-recessed Floyd, I couldn't pull up as much as I wanted to, when the bridge was parallel to the body, so I angled it upward.

The other option in that scenario is to lift the bridge up higher (remaining parallel) but angle the neck with a shim or micro-tilt to get the height right.
