It does for me. I'm a big fan of my Shun knives. If you like to play in the kitchen, you gotta have a few of these.

I have a small collection of cheapies. I got a folding pocket knife with tigerwood handles for like $4 on eBay once, and I like it. (Though it isn't the highest quality.)

Smith And Wesson makes a few good knives. I have one of these, and it's HEFTY!

Me too. That's my newest one, a model 909 Stryker... I just got it as an early Christmas gift (my daughter and her kids were visiting and went back home already so we had an early gift exchange). The blade grinds on this thing are ridiculously good. Check them out:
