Hi all
I have just received my Warmoth Strat body which is rear route no pickguard and would like to install my pickups HSH style, can you tell me
how to install them screw size etc. Is there a youtube video that explains this.I have a good idea of the wiring, its just the mounting of the pups.
Thank's :rock-on:

Are you going to solid mount to the body or use pickup rings?    I personally like the look of rings.  Easier to adjust too.

Your pickups should have come with bolts and springs to mount the pickups to a ring.  You can buy ring mountsing screws from any good music site.  Or just to to a local hardware and find something that meets your needs.

I am sure YouTube has a video, but I wanted to let you know there is more than one type of application.

Thank you for such a quick response.Yes they did come with screws and springs and i am going to solid mount to the body.
One more thing on the neck pocket it advises to fit shorter screws, what size?
Thank's again

Do you have a contoured heel?  IF so the one screw needs to be shorter or it will come thru the neck.  I cannot give an exact size, but I think normal screws are 1 3/4.

IF this is your first build, maybe order a set from Warmoth.  They sell a set for contoured necks.  I honestly have so many laying around I have not measured thread or diameter recently.  Someone will chime in.

They also can be purchased at a good hardware store.  You can asses the proper length by placing the neck on the body.  Set the screw on the side of the neck pocket.  I usually get screws that are longs enough to sit just below the fretboard.  I like to leave a bit of material between the end of screw and fretboard.  I NEVER want to screw end hit the fretboard.

I stand corrected....two screws are shorter.  Here are the dimensions
Quantity: 4 screws
Phillips Oval Head
(2) Length: 1-3/4" (44.45mm) and (2) Length: 1-1/2" (38.10mm)
Stainless Steel

You want to wood mount them. ( I actually have not done that yet) f you have two sets of springs use the shorter conical springs. Also use the shorter wood screws and drill small pilot holes to help with mounting the pickups. I have always used pickguards or mounting rings.

Usually, you need to achieve something like this.

You could just use wood screws but here is what I think is the best way to do it with inserts. Framus Warwick sells the parts to do it or you can piece them together from model suppliers etc.

There is also a product sold called a PMS (Pickup Mounting System) expensive and whilst it provides a mechanical solution the claims of improved tone are questionable. (This is not sold by Warwick but FuTone)
