Installing Locking nut on my Ebony fretboard.

I just got my new neck today, strat style ebony on maple. it has room for the locking nut already. question is, how do i go about installing the nut? do i have to pre-drill holes to screw the nut in or can i just drill them in?

step by step instruction would be WELL appreciated. Thanks guys!


P.S. luthier is out of the question i have no money for one to do it.
