Hi ive recieved my warmoth items and im trying to install the Tuners, its a deluxe 5 neck with angled warmoth headstock, and i fitted the ferrules fine with a tap from a rubber mallet gently and there nicely fitted in there, but when i try to fasten in the tuners, i get to having done three, and cant do the others as the tuner keys get in the way of doing it, do any of you know how to avoid this problem, or a order in which to fasten the tuners on in so that the keys dont get in the way of fastening the tuners.

You turn the ferrules with a wrench. To avoid scratches, use a socket wrench and protect the headstock with a sheet of thick paper. The tuners remain stationary. For GB7s, having to tap in the ferrules sounds liket they're pretty tight.

On a few of my necks, the GB7 reams have been very tight.  For the rest, the ferrules went in smoothly, as soon as I lined them up perfectly.

If you're still having trouble, you can use a sharp blade to gently score the rim of the ferrule where it first touches the wood, and give it a tiny beveled edge.  This will help you line things up before using force to pound them into place.

I agree - use a 15mm socket wrench with a handle of some sort, hold the tuner stationary, and carefully tighten the ferrules.

I usually get the ferrules installed to "finger tight" before I tap and install the tuner screw.  Once the screw is in place, I use more force to tighten the ferrule until there's NO WAY it will wiggle.

Oh thanks very much, first time installing tuners so i thought you had to screw the tuner into the ferrule somehow, my mistake, thanks ill be finding my dads socket wrench now

Good thing you discovered this trying to install GB7's and not when changing a tire...  :icon_thumright:

These tuners have gone to CRAP! I detail my experience in another post. I suggest getting Ultralites. No, I
do NOT work for them.....
