Install gotoh 510 bridge on Telecaster deluxe

Hello,

I have one question.

I’m very interested in building a custom Telecaster Deluxe. While configuring options on the Warmoth product page,
I noticed that the Gotoh 510 series tremolo cannot be installed on Telecaster Deluxe or Thinline bodies.
Could you explain why this is not possible?

Here are my assumptions:

  1. There may be interference between the Wide Range humbucker and the tremolo sustain block.
  2. It might be due to maintaining Fender’s traditional design (since Fender has historically used only 6-point tremolos or hardtail bridges).

Solution
I have received Warmoth sales's Answer.

Due to product variances we’ve run into with the WRHB pickups,
the dimensions of our pickup routing doesn’t leave enough wood
to provide a reasonable measure of stability for any of the 2-post bridges.
Hello and welcome to the forum.

Regarding your assumptions.

1. No, as the tremolo block is located in the same place as a six screw tremolo on the T Deluxe body. The Gotoh 510 may just be missing as an option on the web page builder.
On the thinline body the 510 is available as an option but not on the 72 thinline only the six screw tremolo.
The Gotoh 510 may just be missing as an option on the web page builder.

In both cases check with Warmoth sales as the option may be available off menu. If not a good alternative tremolo that will fit a six screw tremolo rout is the Vegatrem.

2. Certainly not Warmoth offer many options for bridge routs.

Hmm…
However, Warmoth explicitly states on their website(bridge rout information page) that the 510 bridge is not supported for those bodies.
It doesn’t seem like an accidental omission.

I guess I should contact Warmoth’s sales email to ask about it.

I'm just guessing, but maybe the studs would be too close to the huge bridge pickup cavity? Could be a stability issue.

The 6 holes of the vintage tremolo are much smaller in comparison.
Then, if I install a standard humbucker-sized pickup instead of a wide range humbucker, would that eliminate the issue?

Well, in theory it would, but it looks like you can't change the routing on Tele Deluxe or 72 Thinline bodies.

You can have the pickguard routed for different pickups, but the routing in those bodies is always the same.

Thank you for your response.
Another partscaster company, Musikraft, offers Wide Range pickup / swimming pool routing, and not only supports 2-point bridges but even provides recessed Floyd Rose routing.

This is quite confusing.

Like I said, I'm just guessing. Musikraft might do their routes differently. Maybe Warmoth sales can tell you more.

Then probably a Vegatrem if you really wanted to use those body styles if you want a modern trem would be the way to go.

Thank you for the advice.
For now, I’m planning to give up on the Gotoh 510 2-point bridge.
Instead, since there is a 510 6-point bridge available, I’m considering replacing it with that.
