I thought I'd improv a little on this. After not loving how the India ink built up (it looked a little paintier than expected), I decided to sand it back a little. Liking the progress I kept going till I could see some wood. I used the 320 block, but it kept filling up with the ink dust, despite vacuuming it out often. This resulted in the dust acting as a sort of polishing rouge, so I then used a synthetic wool (fine grit - 0) to scuff up the surface. I have a good feeling about this and will be doing the poly in the next few days. :guitaristgif:
