There's a pickguard die punch thingy at Gryphon Guitars that does the same thing, but with a more useful lever to ensure you cut all the way through the plastic.  It's kinda fun, but you wind up with a very sharp edge on your pick.  If you want to go after 'em with an emery board, that'd solve the problem - but at $.25 - $.75 per pick at retail, it's hardly worth my time.  Call it a novelty item.
