I wore through 4 coats of Tru Oil on my neck-already

I think that maybe this is where the 35 coats comes in.  You slather it on, just not all at once!

The 35 coats was probably more like 45-50, I lost count. Kind of a science experiment to see how many coats of Tru-oil it would take to fill a Korina body. Got me through 6 weeks of winter when I have no other finishing possibilities due to cold:

That is one seriously gorgeous instrument.  Bravo.  I've seen a few Tru-Oil instruments but none as nicely done as that.

THIN coats are best... but ya know... even then... it just doesn't hold up
 
I can look at the bright side - people pay big money for aged and distressed stuff.  I was able to achieve this in about a month!  :hello2:
