I want to direct mount a Strat pickup

.I want to direct mount a Strat pickup instead of using pickup rings on a Warmoth Walnut Strat. Does anyone know what type of screws I would used for this, or has anyone done it- I do not want great big ugly screws, and the P-90 screws do not fit the pickup mounting holes. I guess I do not have to use springs, but if possible that would be nice.

EDIT- Ok , here is what I found works perfect for direct mounting a Strat pickup- a 4x1 Phillips Pan/ Roundhead?  sheet metal screw stainless screw. Hard to find, but if you look, you can find, because I did. I used a piece of synthetic foam underneath for height adjustment, and its just great! I had originally intended to paint the screw  black, because I looked high and low for a black screw, but they are non existent, but I just used the stainless, and it is  no problemo in this assembly. You can also direct mount a 'Bucker. 2X 1/2 Phillips Pan round head sheet metal  screw is what you need for direct mounting a Humbucker, which I will also do as soon as I get me some of the 2x1/2's.

2nd EDIT- This is a PITA! I do not recommend it, especially if your guitar is mint or excellent. Whatever you do pre-drill the screw holes..even then unless the foam loves you, you have to fight the pickup and the screw for position., My guitar is nice, but it isn't in that great condition, and I had some minor collateral damage from the process. I despise the pickup rings, so I guess I'm good, but what a bear!YMMV.
