after fifteen years of asking, my father finally gave me my grandmothers mandolin.
My grandparents married in '38 the Mando was new/used?
It was bought for her shortly after.
either way here are some stats:
all maple body and neck
Brazilian rosewood f/b and bridge beautiful grain
Brass?/Bronze frets?
MOP inlay
not sure but the nut might be ebony?
Bakelite knobs and PG.
all slotted screws.
Any of you fellows out there know of these things?

and now the eyecandy....
I had to use the phone so pardon the quality.

Looks like a nice mando but don't know anything about them. Just googled 'stradolin' and it looks like there's plenty of info out there.

Yeah it was more than I wanted to trudge through and was hoping some of the guys here would know.
Just being lazy today.... :laughing7:

Nice!  I'd send a shot over to Vintage Guitar magazine for help.

It could have come from a variety of builders, but somehow I doubt it was made by Gibson.

Def not a gibby... :laughing7:

But this particular brand does have a bit of a cult following,
I found a MSG board, and it has a "Social group" dedicated to these particular instruments. :icon_thumright:

Mandolin Cafe is the bomb. Seriously, post pics over there. I'm in a hurry, I can probably give you some info on your mandolin when I get back later. One of my favorite instruments, I really need to get myself one. Been mandolin free for 6 months...
