About the final coats of finishing. I know enough to figure out how to paint and stain a piece of wood, but im still confused as to the last steps. Things like using clear coats, shellac, oils... I just cant figure out the difference between all of them. If I used a store bought sealer on the wood, is that protected enough to play? Can someone just run down the basics of things like, lacquer, nitro, and poly? Is Shellac a finish in and of itself, or do you combine it with things. I want to learn how to do this, but its so complex :dontknow: :icon_scratch:
