I’m feeling Nomadic but…

Is it just me or does the Nomad really only have four tried and true variations that look good? Black, white (Hetfield), tinted Korina, and sunburst (Hamer Standard)?

Anyone seen something a little more on the wild side that looks good?

The semi transparent red on Warmoth's site looks pretty good, but to me White is the way to go.

Maybe a nice White Pearl with all black hardware. Damn, you gave me an idea, I would like to try a Pearl paint job........

I think EX-style guitars look good in other colors, too. Especially metallics, like silver, or candy red or even something with flakes! Like holo flake!

However, if you're so particular about the color on a nomad/ex-style... what about the star?

It's a comfortable shape that goes well with the wildest of colors! In june we played with a band from LA whose guitarist malmsteened (they actually covered a Malmsteen song) on a bright red star he said he build himself.

I have a Kramer Gunstar Voyager, that has a dark grey (almost black) metallic finish with ghost flames, which I enjoy playing, as well as looking at!

And my purpleheart guitar is also partially based on the star shape.

Yes, it also works in black and white, but... that wouldn't be very wild.

And then, when you think about it, all those wild finishes, that would look good on a Star... what keeps you from putting those on a nomad...?

Just a thought...

Just had a thought, kinda the opposite of Hagwoods:
While White Pearl looks like white at first glance, Black Cherry looks like black at first glance.

That way, one could have a... uh... tried and true black nomad, that is a little more wild upon closer inspection.

Yeah, purple frost sounds great, too, or candy purple?

And yes, I think I was born with a love for candy (apple) red. There isn't a guitar shape I wouldn't like in candy red, I think.

Someone on the Facebook group did a goldtop top, vintage mahogany back with binding and a neck with binding, trap inlays and black headstock for the goldtop look. It’s amazing.

I decided to take this a different route and am working on that in a separate thread - but that goldtop certainly does spark some ideas!

It’s probably one of the most well designed Warmoths I’ve seen. It would work well with most of the Metallics as well as some of the Candy’s. Imagine a Candy Red top with the same transparent back.

That is a beauty, but I'm not showing lam tops or binding being offered for the Nomad or the Star bodies. I wonder if he did it himself or if it's a painted masked edge ? Looks like actual binding from the photos.

Binding used to be an option, as did lamtops. They removed lamtops once the huge quilt and flame pieces ran out. The last time they updated the site for speed the binding disappeared from the nomad options. Might still be available off menu?
