And in any event, for the hydrodip, you're only in and out of the tank, so it's not like you're going to turn your guitar into sinker lumber. Just don't apply clear coat over the dip until it's had enough time to dry out.
 
You know those “color over sunburst” relics mimicking the early Fender resprays?

I want to see the same thing with a hydro dip, just a peekaboo. Or a hydro dipped EVH where the stripes are masked over a hydro dip and a solid is sprayed over for the base color.

Who am I kidding. Only Vai gets to claim the dipped finish, heck you can even get one with his DNA mixed right into the finish.

I guess it also help prevent over coats too. But I guess it doesn't matter much as you will cover that with a part of some sort anyway.
