Black Kornia, chambered body with a Walnut cap.

I bought grain filler but the surface is so smooth, that I'm wondering if I even need it.

Plan to use Crimson Guitars penetrating oil for the first three coats and then their high-build oil for the remainder. Still debating stains.

On walnut I don't use grain filler, it's fine as is.  Never dealt with Korina in person though.

What was your order date?  Trying to get a feel for when mine will ship!

April 1st. The body Shipped May 7th but I wasn't home to receive it when it arrived. So, five weeks, more or less.

That is a long shipping window!  I live 2-1/2 hrs from Warmoth.  It takes a couple days for mine to deliver.

The guitar took seven days to get to me on the East Coast....it took five weeks from order to ship.

Congratulations on your new purchase! It looks great! It gives me hope that mine will ship soon. I also ordered a guitar body with a walnut top (chambered hybrid strat with alder base) and no finish. I ordered it April 12th along with a bunch of other stuff. I hope it gets here soon!

Yeah, it should be any day now for you...hopefully. I will say this, I'm extremely pleased with the fit and finish of my Tele body. It looks like a top-shelf piece of workmanship.

Very nice wood choice.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the body appears to be a standard Tele with a HSH pickup route.

"Hybrid Tele" would have the pickups mounted via the pickguard like a Stratocaster.

The neck route is actually not a surface route and the pickup (Lollar Novel 90, a P90 in a humbucker shape) will be affixed to the pickguard. The center single coil will also be mounted on the pick guard. The bridge pickup (also a Novel 90) will be mounted in the Kluson Tele Humbucker bridge: https://www.kluson.com/kluson-contemporary-humbucker-bridge-for-fender-telecaster-with-brass-saddles-details.html

Curiou ... what switching are you going to use?

I'm still debating the switching...I like to play around with wiring. I assume I'll use a 5-way for the actual switch but I'm thinking that I'd really like a G&L Legacy wiring (one volume, one treble and one bass pot), though I'm not 100% sure yet. Need to investigate a Tele control-plate with three knobs.

You are correct the Warmoth Hybrid Tele Body style looks like this...

The OP in this thread has a standard Tele body with a "hybrid" of pickup options.

I got a 3-knob tele plate for my jazzcaster from 920D Custom on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Fender-Telecaster-3-Hole-Control-Chrome/dp/B01M62EZWP?pd_rd_w=7epDO&pf_rd_p=fa751cb5-14ed-497e-b5ae-9a4f4dd05b44&pf_rd_r=3R1F0KCWS7N5F9Q26DTJ&pd_rd_r=740f67b5-706c-4a90-ade8-e8cc477c594c&pd_rd_wg=8rxwM&pd_rd_i=B01M62EZWP&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_d_rp_23_t

I also did the G&L PTB wiring on that guitar, it's very cramped in the tele control cavity but it's doable and definitely worth it IMO

Wow that is a very sharp looking guitar!  :icon_thumright:

I love walnut on guitars, it has a lot of depth to it and the color is nice - I am building a mooncaster with a walnut body/neck and quilted maple top/rosewood board. The neck has arrived and can be seen in my thread.  :headbang1:
