Humbucker Tele back to single coil

Hey gang, I have a Tele body that is routed for the regular single bridge at the moment. I've tried the Duncan dual rails for Tele and I'm just not thrilled with the sound. It's got the output I'm after but too bassy and I'm wondering if it is the traditional slant. I would like to try a regular rectangular HB and get the appropriate bridge. I know I'll have to route for the HB but my big question is, once you route a regular humbucker hole, will the traditional single bridge cover the route if I ever go back to the single style?

Thanks

Unfortunately, no. The route for the humbucker will be wider than the traditional tele bridge.

That's what I was afraid of. This is a really nice chambered mahogany body too. I don't need to take the chance of boogering it up anyway. I guess I'll just have to build another one.  :icon_thumright:
