My build has a Fender American series tremolo. When looking at humbucker mounting rings I decided to measure my Strat plus deluxe which has the same bridge. It looks like the taper mounts themselves would almost touch the strings , let alone the pickup. I have a Squire with a 6 screw tremolo and a bridge bucker, and it looks really low.
Am I deceiving myself somehow, or should I put a tapered neck mount at the bridge and a flat one at the neck or what? I like low action and since I'm making the body I could go a little shallow on the neck pocket hole and raise the bridge but I don't like having the strings so far off the body.
