Yup... drop the Warmoth Strat last night

Just trying to tell myself that 1. at least it's not broken and 2. it's the first step to the relic look... :tard:

Augh, that's all I can say :-\

BUT... I love reliced guitars, so it looks like a nice little start :laughing3:

Guitars are meant to be worn in. It adds character.

There is a distinct difference between fake relicing and real wear and accidents.

Yeah I usually don't mind my guitars taking a beating but this one was really the biggest accident thats happened to me.

For some reason, strats seem to be particularly accident prone.

That same thing happened to my MIM strat, but on the bottom near the strap button.  I just mixed up some different car paints to get the right color metallic blue and filled it in with thin layers since I really didn't want a relic instrument.  But on that strat, a relic might look sweet.

I know it hurts
But.................... congratulations.
now it is a gigging guitar, go out and play it like it was meant to, abuse that thing onstage and get every ounce of tone it will offer. Strangle it's neck. It now is no longer a show piece but an extension of your mind, go for it.

The Amerindians have a thing about intentionally building defects into their handiwork so that it actually gets used the way it's supposed to, instead of being to perfect to do anything but be looked at. I think the same thing applies to guitars: once you get that first scratch, chip or dent, heart-wrenching though it may be, you stop being afraid of the first scratch and you go out and play the damn thing!  :laughing7:

This is the EXACT reason I don't buy pretty guitars. Because as much as I care for my gear, I am accident-prone, and shit happens.
