How to put a plastic bell knob on a split pot

I just tried to put a Gibson style bell knob on a pot with split post.
The knob is too tight and would not fit, and I don't want to force it in.
Is there a trick to do this???

Well, if you've got a drill press, you can enlarge the knob's shaft a bit so it will fit over the pot shaft. :dontknow:

If the shaft is a split post, then you could press the two sides of the shaft together with pliers and the know should fit over then.

I used a dremel drill, and it work.
